This workshop is designed to train students in basic muscle testing. Its prime aim is to detect faulty neurology that may be impacting on a muscle’s performance. In addition it looks at trigger points and a selection of orthopedic tests to identify specific information regarding the mechanical function of specific body areas. Students need to have a good knowledge of muscles and nerves.
Course Objectives: At the end of the course, participants will be able to perform basic muscle testing on wide range of muscles. You will be able to recognize both intrinsic and extrinsic causes of faulty muscle function. You will be able to recognise the main trigger point locations and their effects. You will be able to conduct a selection of orthopedic tests and know when to use them and the information that they convey.
Pre-requisites: Massage Therapy or Bowen Therapy
Who should attend: Massage therapists and health professional that are keen to include additional assessment techniques into their skill set.
Certificate: Certificate of Completion from Australasian Academy of Wellness Therapies.
