Introduction:

This subject is the major goal of MST, in that it covers mechanical inefficiencies and postural distortions. It covers the following disorders:-. Foot or leg rotations, foot inversion/eversion, lordosis, railway spine, anterior/posterior pelvic rotations, kyphosis, dowagers hump and scoliosis.

Course Objectives:
At the end of the course, participants will be able to undertake postural assessment, and perform cross fibre and other treatment skills to the relevant muscles. You will be able to undertake the many routines applied to the postural imbalances.
Topics covered:
  • Ideal posture
  • Pelvic mechanics
  • Leg mechanics
  • Shoulder girdle mechanics
  • Spinal mechanics
  • Foot imbalances
  • Pelvic imbalances including hyper and hypo lordosis, scoliosis and anterior hip rotations
  • Shoulder girdle imbalances including kyphosis and dowagers.


** 2 days clinical practice are available for students on this course at our Monthly Sunday Clinic but for those who intend to pursue a qualification in MST, these clinical hours will be counted toward to clinical practice. Clinic hours 9.00am to 3.00pm., Booking is required.

What to do Next?

Pre-requisite: MST1 and MST2.

Who Should Attend: Massage therapists and health professionals that are keen to include the assessment and treatment of posture into their skill set. 

Certificate: Certificate of Completion from Australasian Academy of Wellness Therapies

Progression: Certificate IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma of Musculoskeletal therapy
