Diploma of Beauty Therapy is tailored to provide an advanced level of knowledge and skills for the industry professional wishing to pursue a career in a Wellness Spa, Spa Resort, Day Spa or Beauty Salon, in Australia or overseas. With the successful completion of the international qualifications, you may receive up to five international diplomas. Our focus is on providing the student with the most up-to-date training in beauty and body treatments available today.


  • Full-time / Part-time courses available
  • Theory classes and practical classes
  • 120 hours of hands-on clinical experience in our spa clinic
  • Study requirements of a minimum 8 hours per week of private study
  • Social maturity and mature presentation are requirements
  • Minimum Year 12 or equivalent in literacy and numeracy standards

Applicants without the requisite qualification but with demonstrable knowledge and relevant experience are encouraged to apply and will be considered individually. 


Units from the Accredited Beauty Training Package for the Diploma level are covered in the syllabus. Our unique, enhanced training format also covers Spa therapies and includes introduction to additional therapies. The following is an outline of what is offered in this course.

  • Design and apply make-up
  • Work Effectively in a Retail Environment
  • Interpret the chemical composition and physical actions of cosmetic products
  • Provide healthy nutritional options in a beauty therapy context
  • Apply Safe Working Practice
  • Design and apply make-up for photography 
  • Design and apply remedial camouflage make-up
  • Work in a spa therapies framework
  • Plan spa programs
  • Provide spa therapies

Group C - Relaxation Massage

  • Perform aromatherapy massage 
  • Apply aromatic plant oil chemistry to beauty treatments 
  • Blend and apply a range of aromatic plant oils for beauty treatments 
  • Use reflexology relaxation techniques in beauty treatments 
  • Provide Indian head massage for relaxation

AAOWT reserves the right in accordance with the Australian Quality Training Framework guidelines, to update and/or alter the units offered to ensure valid and current qualifications.

Clinic practice hours are an integral component of training and must be fully completed and verified to gain competency.


Opportunity to Qualify in ITEC International Diplomas
ITEC Diploma for Beauty Specialist, ITEC Diploma in Facial Electrical treatments, ITEC Diploma in Body Treatments, ITEC Diploma in Anatomy & Physiology and ITEC Diploma in Spa Therapies.

Enrolment and Payment of Course Fees

A deposit of $88 (enrolment fee) is required to reserve a place for this course. The course  fee is due and payable 4 weeks before course commences or by our easy payment plan. The course fee DOES NOT include the cost of ITEC (International) exams. Student who wish to undertake ITEC (International) exams will be required to pay additional fees as per ITEC charges at prevailing exchange rates. 

Student kit items are carefully selected for the industry professional with quality products and implements. Payment for the student kit and course materials is due one week before course commences for all students. 

School T-shirt may be purchased during induction week. Students must hold a current Basic First Aid Certificate at the completion of this course.
