Nationally Recognised Training
Certificate IV in Aromatherapy has been designed to give the student a general but thorough understanding of the principles of aromatherapy and how it can be applied in everyday living. Student will be taught the history of aromatherapy, gain knowledge and understanding of numerous essential and carrier oils, create personal blends and products, and come to appreciate the difference between therapeutic oils and those of lesser quality. Benefits, limitations and hazards and safety issues of essential and carrier oils will also be outlined.


  • Full-time/Part-time course and flexible learning with a combination of practical and distance learning units available
  • Theory classes and practical classes
  • Internship which allows students to gain practical experience
  • Study requirements of a minimum of 8 hours per week of private study
  • Social maturity and mature presentation are requirements
  • Minimum of year 11 literacy and numeracy standards
  • In addition, you must be able to demonstrate that you have reached an English level equivalent to IELTS 5.0 or TOEFL 500 (for international student)


Applicants without the requisite qualification but with demonstrable knowledge and relevant experience are encouraged to apply and will be considered individually.

Internship which allows students to gain practical experience is an integral component of training and must be fully completed and verified to gain competency.

Professional Recognition
Graduates are eligible for membership with the Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS).


Career Prospects
Graduate will be able to provide aromatherapy treatment and formalute applications within a relaxation framework. You will be able to provide basic aromatherapy health assessment and treatment in a clinic, aged care facility, a health service or a spa facility. Job prospects including working in manufacturing of aromatherapy products and retail of aromatherapy products.


Students who hold other Health Training Package qualifications with relevant units of competency may apply for Recognised Prior Learning. RPL application must be made on enrolment or at least four weeks before the course begins. Please speak to our Education Manager for further information
